About Meagan

I am dedicated to providing compassionate and effective counseling services to individuals struggling with various mental health concerns. My mission is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Whether through in-person sessions at my Texas location or virtual sessions, I am committed to helping clients.

Welcome to beginning your therapeutic journey! I am an avid believer in finding the 'right' therapist for yourself. In order to know if we are a good fit, I want to share some about my professional and personal life. Although therapy is 100% about you, it is natural to want to know some about the person you are sharing with.

The Professional Jargon

*What are my credentials?

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC)

*Where did I graduate from?

I graduated with my Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at Tyler.

*Where have I worked?

I have experience working in a behavioral health care unit in group and individual settings with inpatient and outpatient clients struggling with mood disorders. I have spent time at a crisis center as a sexual assault, domestic violence, and trauma advocate. I have also worked and fostered client care in both group practice and  private practice settings with mood disorders, trauma, and eating disorders.

*Who have I worked with?

I work with individuals as young as 7, including pre-teens, teenagers, young adults, and adults. I provide support for both gender and non-gender conforming, neurodivergent, and neurotypical clients. My passion lies in working with individuals and their families-whether family of origin or family of choice- to help build strong, supportive systems outside of sessions.

I am well certified to help you and your loved ones process hardships and celebrate successes. I will also do my own work outside of sessions to make sure I am able to be present with each client.

The Personal Stuff

Some Fun Facts

I love to travel (with removal of the packing process), my cat's name is Jackson (aka Action Jackson), I love animals, I like to nurture a relationship with cooking (doing dishes is a different story), and I have a passion for incorporating creativity and art into life and sessions (if that is a client's desire- therapy with play, paint, poetry, food exposures, and music).

There are many qualified individuals out there, but what I think makes such an impact in the therapy room is the therapeutic rapport. From working with a wide range of ages, I have developed a more transparent "therapy face" and each session can look different from sharing sarcasm and reels, to incorporating play, identifying part work, meal exposures and challenges, body scanning, value work, building a unique narrative, and practicing somatic exercises. Depending on your needs, I can be direct but I'm a believer that my purpose is to walk along side you as an authentic human first and foremost.

I work with a diverse range of clients. If there is ever a situation where you or I feel I am not the best fit for your needs, I am more than happy to help you connect with the right professional who can assist you.

I am always looking for ways to connect with clients. Whether this is your first time with therapy, you are therapist shopping, or you are revisiting therapy, I look forward to working with you! It can be so vulnerable to schedule that first session. One phone call or text, and I can be sitting with you through those emotions!
